Graduating with a medical degree from the University of Cambridge in 1995, Associate Professor Chan completed her specialist training in Obstetrics and Gynaecology in the UK and is a Fellow of the RCOG (UK). She currently practices as a Consultant Obstetrician at the National University Hospital (NUH) Singapore, with a special interest in the management of pregnant women with medical disorders. Having completed a PhD in 2004 and with the subsequent award of a prestigious 5-year Health Foundation Clinician Scientist Fellowship and grant funding from the MRC (UK) and other research charities she had established a basic science research group at the University of Birmingham, UK. As a Clinician Scientist, she has now moved to Singapore and has started a research programme at the National University Singapore (NUS), with a joint appointment at the Singapore Institute for Clinical Sciences (SICS), A*STAR.
